Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix showed a flair for sports early, and discovered her ability to sprint during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix signed a contract for a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and then enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she defended her title by beating Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed in the top three of the events.
