Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, an African-American writer, is known for her ex-wife, comedian and TV host Steve Harvey. The decision to stay clear from the scrutiny of the media, she has an extremely private life. Steve could not achieve the success he is currently enjoying, yet they had been married 14 years. Rumours have been circulating in Hollywood regarding the reason for their separation. Some attribute it to Steve Harvey's unsavory behavior and others to his choice of to pursue a different path in life, such as comedy. The tragic story of her life can be attributed to Steve's neglect of her and her daughters as she was pregnant with her third child. Despite the hardships she has faced she's managed to build a successful career in fashion design and also in writing. Her books include "Marcia Eyes To The Soul', "Marcia: Poems From The Heart', and 'Marcia: Thoughts from My Mind'. Children are inspired by her generosity and kindness. Marcia Harvey was raised in an African-American home and has a poor financial situation. She began her career working at Saks Fifth Avenue, a department store. Steve met her at a reception party for a friend of a mutual acquaintance a couple of years later. They were in love, and were married in 1980. The couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982. Steve worked as an insurance salesperson. Steve was already disillusioned by his work and decided to pursue a career as an entertainer, especially stand-up comedy. Marcia and Steve were in a lot of tension and later, reports suggested that they were starting to live apart. Much of the fame that Marcia Harvey enjoyed resulted from her marriage to Steve Harvey and her divorce to Steve Harvey. Although their divorce proceedings in 1994 were kept under wraps, it's clear that Marcia Harvey was expecting their third child when they split up. Marcia filed for divorce in 1993. Marcia had to file for divorce before the courts following her divorce and Steve Harvey's refusing of the child support and alimony payment.
